PTA

Welcome to Orchard Way Primary School PTA

We are a bunch of mums, dads, grandparents, carers who do our best to raise as much money as possible for the school and most importantly have fun whilst we do that.

The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) meet on a regular basis, usually in the evening, and every single parent is welcome to join. We follow a model constitution compromising of a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Ordinary Members. We also have other members who volunteer at numerous events and help with various preparations. All help given is vital in ensuring we give as much to our children as possible.

The events that we run are vast and any ideas that anyone has are always considered. Typical events have included a family fireworks display, Adults’ Quiz Night, Monsters’ Bash and Onesie Party, Christmas Fayre, Easter Tea, Cup Cake Sales and a Reptile Afternoon. We have also hosted a Birds of Prey Display, Summer Solstice Concert and always hold a Summer Fete in July.

We also run weekly Zumba classes with a qualified instructor. This has proved very popular and even runs through the school holidays. In addition to hosting events, we also contribute towards the school sports day, year 6 leavers farewell parties and most recently we donated a cheque to the school (as a result of the Cake Sales) towards purchasing new books for the infant and junior reading libraries.

The PTA also prides itself in making an annual contribution to all school trips for all pupils arranged by the school. This is to help with keeping costs for trips as low as possible. The children get to enjoy trips to places like Hampton Court Palace, Harry Potter Studios, Fishers Farm, Kent Life and so much more.

The PTA is responsible for the sale of school uniform within the school. All uniform requests can be made by completing a form, which is located outside the school office. Also, a PTA member is available every morning to assist with any queries.
