Orchard Way Primary School

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low income families who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) continuously for more than six months and children who are, or those who have been looked after.  It includes children who have been eligible for FSM at any point during the last six years.

Pupil Premium pupils have been targeted for this money because there is a gap between their attainment nationally compared with the attainment of non-Pupil Premium pupils.  Every year, schools receive £1385 for every pupil eligible for Pupil Premium funding and £2410 for looked-after pupils.  This is known as the Pupil Premium grant, which schools are required to spend in ways that impact on pupil attitude, attendance and attainment.

For 2022-23 we have been allocated £56456 for 37 pupils (19%) who are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

Pupils making insufficient progress and or those experiencing barriers to learning will receive additional academic and/or emotional support offered and/or access to extra-curricular activities.  Some of the Pupil Premium grant is also used to support vulnerable pupils who may not be eligible for Pupil Premium.

IN 2015-16 ORCHARD WAY WAS AWARDED A LOCAL PUPIL PREMIUM AWARD FOR THE ATTAINMENT AND PROGRESS OF PUPIL PREMIUM PUPILS.
