Year 6 have been working very hard this week. They have been focusing on setting out work clearly in their books, which has involved work on complex sentences in literacy and place value in maths.
We had a lot of fun in maths pretending to be different place value columns and numbers so that we could learn how to round numbers.
We have had another fantastic week in Year 6. The children have been working incredibly hard on some literacy and maths assessments and they have enjoyed creating some Harry Potter artwork in the afternoons. They have also enjoyed their first dance lesson this week and they are settling into the new roles and responsibilities that come with being a member of Year 6.
Welcome back. We have been so excited to see how enthusiastic the children have been about their learning this week and so pleased that they have come back excited about starting Year 6 and ready to learn. We are very pleased that their holiday homework has been completed to such a high standard (thank you for all your support with this) and we’re really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.
This week, we have been thinking about what makes a motivated learner and trying to solve a maths investigation.
