This week the children have learnt how to complete a boxed up plan. It is a method that helps children plan and write their own stories and has many benefits, including building cohesion in the children’s writing. They are in the process of writing their own evacuee stories and I am really impressed with the progress they have made so far.
To link in with our topic of WWII, the children created a piece of art related to London during the time of the Blitz. They used a variety of coloured chalks to create the background and experimented with lots of different ways to blend the colours. We also learnt how to create a silhouette and the children designed their very own 1940s London skyline out of black card.
