This week in maths, we have continued with our revision timetable and focused on:

  • Reading Roman numerals to 1000
  • Demonstrating a secure understanding of addition and subtraction
  • Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000

As we are celebrating book week at Orchard Way, the theme is poetry. We have looked at the war poem ‘Dulce et Decorum Est’ by Wilfred Owen. We began by discussing images related to WW1 and how the soldiers would have felt during this. We completed an analysis of the poem and the children were very successful in using their inference skills. Following this, we began rehearsing and learning the poem and the children were fantastic at performing this to the rest of Ks2. I am very much looking forward to our end of year production as they have really impressed me with their acting abilities this week.
