Year 6 have been very busy this week! The children have completed another round of past practise SATs papers in reading, maths and GPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling). I am so proud of their resilience and the improvements they have made already. We need to keep the hard work and effort up so that they can continue to progress and become more confident with test situations and test-style questions.

We have also focused on building vocabulary in literacy lessons. Our character focus was Tom Oakley (from Goodnight Mister Tom) and the children really impressed me with their ability to up level their vocabulary naturally. They were also able to write a character description using characterisation (show, not tell).

In Science, we continued with our work on classification and the children were able classify and sort animals into groups based on their characteristics. In topic, we focused on the French Revolution and how this came about.
