This week the children have written about things they like to do outside of school.
We have been learning about spiders and their webs. The children made printed spiders, collage spiders and 3D spiders and they also made a spider hat for the class spider hunt. They also threaded a paper plate to make a web shape and painted some silvery webs.
On Friday, we finished our work on spiders by making a spider biscuit out of icing and then the children added some chocolate button eyes and tasty legs.
This week, Reception children watched a film about how wellington boots are made and then they did some boot matching and wellie printing with paint. They also did some writing about the members of their family.
In art, the children have enjoyed string printing, junk modelling and colour mixing.
We also had a PE session in the hall, with all the children getting changed into their PE kits for the first time.
All the children have now started in Reception and they have spent the week exploring the classroom and the outside area.
Also this week, Reception children have been looking at apples. They have used magnifying glasses to look closely at the inside of an apple and then produced an observational drawing of what they could see. They also used apples and paint to produce a two colour repeating pattern.
