The week has whizzed by!

Year 2 have been busy writing an innovated story. As a class the children have adapted the fable The Frog and The Scorpion to write their own versions of The Swan and the Fox. We have been focusing on using appropriate adjectives to create noun phrases e.g. the sly, cunning fox. In addition to this we have looked at using powerful past tense verbs e.g. glided , pounced and screeched.

In maths, the children have been using their place value to compare and order 2 digit numbers, looking carefully at the tens and then the ones. They have also practised counting forwards and backwards in 2s, 5s and 10s before completing a series of number tracks.

In other areas, the children have sorted man made and natural materials to make collages and written about the changes that took place after The Great Fire of London.

Here are some pics from the week:

I look forward to seeing you all at parent’s evening next week.

Have a great weekend!
